You don't want to miss this year's fundraiser!

Guy Felicella will speak on his theme: Overcoming.

Guy Felicella turned his life around after years of homelessness, gang involvement, and surviving overdoses in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, overcoming a two-decade long substance use disorder.

Now, he is an international public speaker and advocate for drug policy reform. Guy passionately promotes harm reduction, trauma therapy, and faster access to treatment, using his story of resilience and recovery to inspire others and push for compassionate drug policies and addiction support.

This is your opportunity to hear Guy’s story. And the breakfast is a great place to network, meet our staff and volunteers, and learn more about our work.

Tickets are $145 each or $1300 for a table of 10.*

Art with Ed
A colourful afternoon
Image

We had a colourful afternoon with local artist, Ed Coleman. Ed introduced folks young and old to painting! Food Bank users and Café guests spent a few hours learning to paint or honing their skills. Paints and creativity flowed all afternoon, with everyone making their own version of a classic Coleman flower piece or something of their own design.

Our Café has become a hub of activity during the summer, providing free snacks and meals, plus activities and added support for those most vulnerable. When our doors open, program users beeline to the Café for a cup of coffee or a quick snack before starting a load of laundry or using the food bank.

Thanks to your support, we're able to meet folks where they're at. Some simply need groceries for the week, or a chance to put brush to canvas.

We witnessed a permanent smile on one woman while she painted.

She came for the food bank, and walked out with groceries and a masterpiece of her own making.

Thank you.

Our garden is still growing! Corn, squash, peas, and peppers are starting to fill up our garden beds. Some vegetables will go straight to our Food Bank, and others will be used as ingredients for the freshly prepared meals we serve in our Café.

Kenneth, Cas, Baisa, and Alex

We had another great crew of summer job students this year. Kenneth, Cas, and Baisa made our garden flourish with plants and added beautiful murals to the space. Alex joined our kitchen crew to support breakfast guests.
