This Giving Tuesday and giving season, support Beavers Fight Hunger
 
Your gift to Beavers Fight Hunger helps our Basic Needs Center (BNC) teach students long-term affordable living skills.  
 
It also provides them with the short-term assistance they need through the BNC food pantry on the Corvallis campus and the Associated Students of Cascades Campus Food Pantry at OSU-Cascades. 
 
Nicole Hindes, Director of the OSU Basic Needs Center says, “I believe that we are ahead of the curve for what it means to do basic needs work, because our focus is helping students to self-author their lives, to know and believe that they are capable.” 
 
With 23% of college students across the country facing food insecurity today, the work being done at the BNC is more important than ever.  
 
Gifts of any size make a real difference and monthly gifts provide important regular support: 
 
$12 provides one Healthy Beaver Bag recipe kit, helping students enjoy a meal while learning healthy cooking skills. Each bag also contains staples for the week. 
$24 ($2 per month) provides a bag of fresh produce for seven students shopping at the OSU food pantry. 
$120 ($10 per month) provides a dozen eggs for 60 students at the OSU food pantry. 
$240 ($20 per month) buys 350 cans of beans, canned tomatoes or corn to supplement the BNC’s food bank provisions. 
$360 ($30 per month) allows the pantry to provide culturally familiar rice for one week. 
$600 ($50 per month) provides milk for a monthly distribution – 300 half gallons to help support students’ bones and teeth. 
$1,200 ($100 per month) stocks produce for one week.
